Protect Your Skin From the Sun

Protecting your skin from the sun is important all year round. The sun is strongest during the summer, so it’s especially important to use sunscreen this time of year. Even if you’re not going to be outside for an extended period of time, your face is exposed to incidental light every day. You may think that you don’t get much sun exposure, but now think about your commute to work, for instance. If you are outside for 30 minutes twice a day, that adds up over a lifetime, and your face will pay the price.

When you finish shaving, your face needs two things: moisture and sun protection. Moisturizing is a must because washing and shaving can remove natural oils and irritate the skin. You may be afraid that using moisturizers will cause acne breakouts or will worsen already oily skin. There are lots of products currently on the market that are noncomedogenic, meaning they will not cause pimples. Better yet, many moisturizing aftershave creams also contain ingredients that offer sun protection, which will give your skin both the moisture and protection it needs, in a single-step application.
