How to Safely Shave Around a Mole or Pimple

Do you ever feel like shaving your face is like mowing a lawn full of rocks? To get that lawn mowed, you need to avoid obstacles in your way. The same is true when you are shaving your face when you have pimples or raised moles. Shaving over them the same way you would shave the rest of your skin could lead to trouble.

The newest razors have multiple blades that are individually spring mounted. They are designed to adjust to the contours of your face and give you the smoothest shave with the least irritation possible. However, even these blades cannot always adjust to avoid a raised pimple or mole.

Shaving right over a mole or pimple can lead to a cut. So you have two options. First, shave slowly and lightly over the spots to reduce the risk of irritation. Second, shave around the spots altogether. After you finish shaving, you can touch up those areas. If you have a large, inflamed pimple, it may be best to give that area a shaving holiday for a day or two.

While pimples go away, a raised mole will not. A raised mole in the area of the beard can be a long term hurdle. It may take some trial and error to figure out what is the best shaving technique for you. Err on the side of shaving lightly or even using a scissor to cut longer hairs gently!
